As the most tantalising gossip of the season is spreading across the ton - we're planning something rather spectacular. A night when Regency splendour meets elegant mischief, where Malta's most enchanting palace becomes a treasure trove of intrigue.

Whispers on the wind talk of The Diamond Charity Ball to be hosted by Palazzo Parisio’s very own Baroness, Justine Pergola in collaboration with event creator super-star, Sarah Young. These society ladies are delighted to bring you a fancy dress ball with proceeds going to the FIDEM Foundation.
Plan a visit to your preferred modiste, dust off your sparkles and don your very best finery and start dreaming of empire waistlines and cravats, as we transport you to the Regency Era for a night of intrigue and delight in the magnificent ballroom, complete with stringed instruments, a ballet performance by Bridgitte Gauci Borda School of Dance and other surprises throughout the night.Â

The Diamond Charity Ball is being held in support of FIDEM Foundation - a non-profit organisation providing support and empowerment opportunities to vulnerable women and adolescent girls by giving them access to life-changing education and wellbeing guidance. FIDEM Â Foundation will also be hosting their 3rd edition of the Women's Day Conference on 7 March.
Costumes
This is a fancy dress ball so guests are expected to come in fancy dress. The ball is set in the Regency era so this is what you're looking for. Think Pride and Prejudice and any other Jane Austen novel, or the popular series Lady Whisteldown is so keen to write about!
However if you are stuggling, any period costume will do. There are a number of local theatres that rent costumes. Try your luck at:

DIY Hacks
There are also a number of DIY hacks you can use to make modern day outfits a little more Regency.
For women: Take a floor-length ball-gown and accessorize in the Regency style; sashes just under the breast area, long gloves (you can get these at any party store), feathers, tiaras and vintage jewellery.
For men: Take some tails and accessorzie in the Regency style; waistcoats, cravats, walking canes and top hats.
Though we'd love everyone to be as true to the era as possible, primarily, we want everyone to have a good time. So do what you can and come join the fun!
